When Caitlyn first reached out about her engagement session, she had just one request: make it country. She didn’t need a Pinterest board or a long list of ideas—she trusted my vision completely, and let me tell you, that kind of creative freedom is a dream.
We chose the perfect location with open fields, long grass, wildflowers, and just the right amount of rustic charm. Caitlyn showed up looking stunning and glowing with excitement. Andrew, like most guys at the beginning of a session, was definitely a little stiff and unsure of what he’d gotten himself into (totally normal). But I’ve got my tricks—within minutes, I had them playing little games, doing silly prompts, and just enjoying each other. The best way to make anyone relax in front of the camera? Get them to move and laugh. And laugh they did.
We twirled, we danced, we picked wildflowers like it was a scene from a Nicholas Sparks movie. At one point Andrew picked a flower and tucked it behind Caitlyns ear. I don’t think I stopped smiling behind the camera the entire time.
And then… the sky showed off.
We started with soft, moody clouds that gave the whole session a cozy, romantic feel. Then golden hour hit, lighting up the field with that magical glow every photographer dreams of—sunshine in the foreground, storm clouds in the background. It was breathtaking.
The light, the laughter, the love—everything came together to create a gallery that quickly became one of my all-time favorites. Not just because of how it looked, but because of how it felt. Caitlyn and Andrew were so much fun to work with. Their love is real, playful, rooted, and easy. They made each other laugh with just a glance and weren’t afraid to get a little dirty or a little crazy. That’s the good stuff.
This session was more than just checking engagement photos off the list—it was a memory in itself. And that’s what I want for every couple I photograph: to walk away not just with pretty pictures, but with a story and an experience they’ll never forget.
