There’s something so special about capturing a family in their own space—where love lives in the little details and life unfolds just as it is. This in-home newborn session in Camden, SC for baby Levi was exactly that: cozy, calm, and full of that newborn magic.
When I arrived at Madelyn and Cole’s home, it was warm and peaceful, the perfect setting for documenting this beautiful new chapter. Everyone had just finished eating Zaxby’s (a solid pre-photo session move in my opinion), and baby Levi was sound asleep—which made the perfect start to our session with some quiet portraits. There's just something about a sleeping newborn that instantly slows time down.
Madelyn is not only a beautiful mom of three, but also a dear friend and former NICU coworker of mine. We’ve shared many long shifts and special moments at work, so being able to photograph her family’s newest addition was such a full-circle moment for me. It’s always an honor to document a family’s story, but when it’s someone you’ve walked through life with, it just hits differently.
Levi’s safari-themed nursery was absolutely adorable—the soft green walls made the perfect backdrop, and every little detail was so thoughtfully put together. You could feel how much love went into creating that space for him.
Maverick and Grayson, Levi’s big brothers, were full of energy and excitement the entire time. They were so talkative and helpful (which I love), proudly showing me their rooms and chatting in between shots. Their curiosity and love for their baby brother was so sweet to witness—it’s clear Levi is already so loved by his big siblings.
This session felt like such a beautiful reflection of what newborn life is truly like—slow moments, a little chaos, lots of snuggles, and deep love all around. If you know, you know. That newborn bliss is something truly special, and I’m so grateful I got to document it for this sweet family.
